Project Accountant – Quincy, MA

The main function of a Project Accountant (PA) is to handle all billing and accounts payable functions for CMC Design-Build major construction projects. The project accountant will work closely with the Project management group of CMC and will assist them handling any client or subcontractor financial needs or questions.

  • Acquires project budget from Project team and enters data into appropriate systems.
  • Drafts, processes, and distributes owner application for payment and letters invoices as directed by Project Manager.
  • Compiles all required payment backup including subcontractor billings, cost reports or lien waivers.
  • Collects and processes subcontractor application for payment and works with Compliance to ensure that all backup documentation is provided.
  • Reviews and validates subcontractor applications for payment with project team and aids in correcting errors and omissions.
  • Coordinates and validates final billings from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Sets up and maintains key project information in project programs.

Subcontractor / Vendor Risk Management

  • Work with project team to understand the needs that are specific to the project/client. This includes, type of contract, documentation specific to client: lien releases, back up minority reporting, certified payroll, etc.
  • Works with Compliance Manager to collects and processes all Lien Waivers, and provide assistant for same, to subcontractors with lower tier subcontractors.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required
  • 2-5 years of Project Accounting experience.
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills a must
  • Detail oriented a must
  • Team player with a willingness to support team members across the finance discipline
  • Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Notary or willingness to become a notary preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and knowledge of construction accounting applications and software.
Architectural Designer – All Locations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Enrollment in NCARB AXP preferred, but not required.
  • Interest in problem solving and designing buildings with a high level of complexity.
  • Ability to work simultaneously across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills, excellent time management and a passion for growth.
  • Experience utilizing Revit and AutoCAD in a professional setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Project Captains and Architects to develop designs and construction documentation for large scale industrial/commercial projects.
  • Research and specify products and materials to achieve design goals.
  • Develop renderings and presentations to client for design options.
  • Work with Project Captains and Architects to perform submittal, shop drawing and RFI review during construction administration.
  • Complete site visits during all phases of design and construction including, but not limited to, existing building documentation, on-site meetings with owners, and construction site visits.
  • Some travel is required.
Assistant Field Superintendents – Traveling
  • Assist with set up of field office facilities and filing system, scheduling of workers, and procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes and field reports.
  • Work with subcontractors to complete project within the given budget and time frame.
  • Assure that proper safety standards and precautions are followed.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with scope of work.
  • Assist with preparing and completing punch list.
  • Projects are throughout the U.S. An upbeat, positive, results oriented attitude is a must.
Assistant Project Managers – All Locations
  • Assist project managers with a variety of tasks from project start-up to close out
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining files, schedules & logs
  • Drawing Reviews
  • Locate vendors, prepare bid packages, & receive proposals
  • Draft purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders
  • Assist with the permitting process
  • Distribute drawings to and communicate with subcontractors and field personnel
  • Assist with invoice review and coding
  • Assist with punch list and preparation of close out materials

Project Planners – All Locations
  • Define project program requirements.
  • Assist in developing project layout.
  • Estimate project cost.
  • Prepare preliminary subcontractor scope of work.
  • Secure preliminary subcontractor pricing.
  • Prepare scope of work/proposal to Owner.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Network within the food industry and attend trade shows.
  • Candidates should have a good understanding of warehouse design and operations, food processing facility design and flow, basic utility requirements, and food safety design and procedures.
  • Candidates must have good writing and speaking skills and be proficient in Excel, and Word. Experience with AutoCad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Publisher is a plus.
  • Candidates must be proficient in quantity take-offs.
  • Projects are throughout the U.S. Overnight and some multi-day travel is required.
  • Candidates should have a good understanding of general contracting.
  • This is effectively sales engineer position, so the candidate should have good interpersonal skills. An upbeat, positive, results oriented attitude is a must.
Construction Superintendents – Traveling
  • Establish and manage site safety procedures.
  • Management of site, subcontractors, suppliers etc. Assist in project management (development of project scope, budget and schedule).
  • Develop overall project schedules and three week look ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate the schedules and work of contractors for building and process disciplines.
  • Oversee process & utility equipment installations.
  • Secure regulatory approvals.
  • Coordinate field engineering.
  • Manage facility start up.
  • Manage 3rd party testing and inspection.
  • Projects are throughout the U.S. extended stay travel is required.
  • An upbeat, positive, results oriented attitude is a must.
Project Managers – All Locations
  • Manage the Design/Build process for food distribution and food processing facilities
  • Prepare subcontractor RFP/scope of work
  • Secure, vet and level subcontractor pricing
  • Negotiate subcontracts
  • Secure governmental approvals for the projects
  • Finalize design details with clients, design team and outside consultants
  • Establish and manage the project schedule
  • Manage CMC field staff
  • Manage project cost
  • Train and develop field personnel and assistant project managers
