HP Hood has selected CMC Design-Build to design, engineer and build a new 23,000 SF cooler and palletizing area expansion at their Vernon, NY cultured dairy facility. The new cooler will replace an existing, smaller cooler. CMC developed a detailed phasing plan to allow Hood to continue uninterrupted operations while the addition is constructed. A portion of the new cooler and the new palletizing area will be constructed around the existing cooler and put into operation in Phase I. Phase I will see the existing cooler demolished and remainder of the new cooler built and connected back to the production facility. The project will include an expansion of the ammonia refrigeration plant. Refrigeration for the new cooler will be delivered via individual penthouse units providing high CFM. This is CMC’s third project with HP Hood.
