CMC Design-Build provided site evaluation, design, engineering, process engineering and construction services for DeMet’s relocation of their operations from Toronto, Ontario to Big Flats, New York.
The 100,000 square foot facility includes liquid chocolate receiving bays, liquid chocolate storage, a caramel kitchen, automated depositing and enrobing, cooling tunnels and automated packaging. The new facility includes new steam systems, chilled water and cooling tower systems, compressed air and electrical systems. CMC also provided a new chocolate delivery control system.
CMC coordinated the shutdown of the existing Canadian facility and relocated the processing lines while keeping DeMet’s in production.
