The project is located in San Marcos, TX at their Low Velocity Distribution Center and involves a substantial reconfiguration of their existing, highly complex pick-to-belt sortation system which is coupled with an AS/R system.
HEB is a $9 billion retail grocer that operates primarily in Texas, Louisiana and Mexico and is considered to be one of the premier retail grocers in the US.
CMC developed the proposed retrofit configuration and designed the entire necessary supporting infrastructure, including a new mezzanine above the existing primary sortation/accumulation mezzanine.
Project cost is confidential but involves adding two (2) new high speed shoe sorters and various high-speed merge tables, inclines, declines, accumulation lanes and fall-back custom conveyor switches. A 7,000 sf new mezzanine was added featuring sound absorption panels to help reduce the overall noise level.
